A career in nursing has led to developing innovative solutions for all our patients.
Kiera wanted to be a nurse from a very young age. She shares a fond memory of taking a career class in the late 70’s with a Tri-County Family Medicine Physician’s Assistant (PA) for young students interested in the healthcare profession. “The opportunity to explore the hospital environment with a PA from Tri-County certainly helped me confidently choose a career in health care.”
She joined Tri-County in 2017 after serving as Director of Quality at both major healthcare systems in Rochester, NY. She is also a board member for the Greater Rochester Quality Council. Kiera also received a Master’s in Healthcare Quality and Safety from Thomas Jefferson University. The program outlined approaches to improving the delivery of healthcare.
As a native of the area, she chose to return “home” to Tri-County to share expertise acquired to build systems to help support the surrounding communities with better access to affordable healthcare.
Kiera is motivated by patients and believes that going the extra mile for them is the best approach to patient care. “Instead of judging people, stand by them and help to build their future. I believe you should treat others the same way as you or your family would want to be treated.”
In her spare time, Kiera enjoys spending time with her family, both human and fur babies. During the summer, her favorite pastime is relaxing in her pool while thinking of new innovative approaches to healthcare
