Norman Wetterau, MD

One of our first physicians who is still making an impact with our most vulnerable patients.

For many years, Dr. Wetterau saw patients at the Nunda Health Center and was well known as the “town doctor.”  He now divides his time between Tri-County and Casa to offer consultative services to assist with care for people with addictions to opioids plus those struggling with alcohol, cocaine, and marijuana. This important work has taken him all over the world to speak on this topic. His biggest area of interest is prevention of drug use.

Dr. Wetterau is a graduate of the Duke Medical School and one of the first graduates of the University of Rochester Family Medicine Program. With over 30 years of dedication to family medicine, he was chosen as the New York State Family Physician of the Year and later as New York State Rural Physician of the year. We’re glad he’s still part of the Tri-County team helping to combat the opioid crisis in our community.

When he’s not working, you can find him spending time with his wife and two children. Many may know his wife Nancy as she taught Spanish at the Dansville High School.
